Job shadowing in norway
IOGT Tippetue is the Norwegian partner organisation in the LLL project. IOGT Tippetue, based in Bergen, is a local branch of IOGT, which is an adult solidarity NGO working towards a better society against alcohol-related harm. It is a requirement of all members that no-one is consuming alcohol as long as they are members. For you as job shadowers we ask you that when you take part in Juvente activities and are hosted as guests of IOGT Tippetue and Juvente during the whole stay; that you don’t consume alcohol or other drugs during the job shadowing in Norway.
As IOGT Tippetue is a small branch with few members, the job shadowing will take place with our youth organization Juvente, which has an office in Oslo. Juvente has about 3000 members between 13-26 years old; the core group aged between 16-18.

The Job Shadowing will be during the Fønix youth exchange, Oslo 17-24 July 2012
There will be a youth exchange in Oslo this summer, with 12 participating European countries. Here the accommodation will also be at a school, and during the daytime you will have the opportunity to take part in drama workshops and other activities together with the other 70 participants aged between 18-25. We would recommend you to arrive at the start of the exchange to be part of the teambuilding activities and be a proper member of the group, but we don’t expect you to stay for the whole project if you don’t have time to stay for two weeks.

Aim: To in a visible way fight for tolerance and cultural understanding in Europe. The youth exchange is a kick-start for continuous workshops for tolerance in Norewegian schools and hopefully also on other places in Europe.
Theme: European awareness and tolerance
“Fonix -dramatic glass” is a youth exchange that will take place in Oslo, Norway the 11th-24th of July for 12 program days. The objective of Fonix is a more open, understanding and democratic world, both right now and in the future. We fight for that the tragedy of Oslo and Utoya 22.7.2011 never will repeat itself. The main themes are European awareness and antidiscrimination, and the working method and the working methods are mainly design and performing art.
Objectives
The objective of Fønix is a more open, understanding and democratic world, both right now and in the future. We fight for that the sorrow of Oslo and Utøya 22.7.2011 never will repeat itself.
Inclusion: Inclusion is the core of Fønix. We work for intercultural, interreligious and cross political inclusion among young people and children. The aim is to get along and be able to interact no matter from what context we come from. In the youth exchange itself we aim to involve so much young people with fewer opportunities as possible.
Cultural diversity: We see it as a strength and opportunity in Fønix that we work together with delegates from twelve countries from all over Europe. Several promoter groups work with immigrants, so we expect to have cultural diversity also within the delegation, as well as among the local Norwegians that get in contact with Fønix. We will not make a scene out of having a multicultural group, but rather show what we have in common and make smooth cooperation, which requires attention and preparation from the leaders.
Participation of young people: Fønix is led by young people and involves a big number of both participants and locals. The Fønix workshops will be central in Oslo, visual and interactive with people passing by. By Fønix we will show that we as young people can take a stand and make a change when gathering our forces.
European Citizenship: Norway and the Nordic countries got paralyzed the 22.7.2011 and what happened also shook the whole Europe. If something this horrible can happen in a safe country as Norway, it can happen anywhere. Also political movement endanger openness at the moment in many European countries. It is time to take an action together for common European values, which unite us as European citizens.
Creativity and entrepreneurship: Our main methods public workshops for openness and glass design and drama for antidiscrimination, so creativity is the most essential ingredient. Many young designers and drama instructors from the hosting and sending countries are involved in Fønix, so the project can give them both work experience, a name in the branch and show how they can use their art for making difference in the society.
Method: Glass design and interactive drama
Material and resources: Broken glass from the bomb, professional drama instructors and young designers and an endless amount of hope and creativity
Countries involved: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Romania, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom (and now Peru and Brazil!)
Venue: Oslo, accommodation will be at a school, and all participants will sleep on mattresses in classrooms.
